Hi babe😚!
How are you doing?
Hope life isn't beating your ass up😭😭?
Anyways, whether life is ‘life-ing’ or not, we have a gift for you.
So many writers struggle with being productive without burning out.
In our ideal world, burnout would not exist, but sadly it doesn't work that way.
BUT we come bearing gifts!
The idea of a ‘perfect’ writing routine sounds beautiful until real life steps in with deadlines, laundry, traffic, light issues, data increase and burnout knocking on your door😭😭.
But what if we could help you make your writing life feel lighter 🥺?
Your productivity will skyrocket like mad!
Moneyyyy will come in (that's the most important thing we know 😂😂).
So here's a simple guide to building a writing routine that supports you instead of draining you.
1. Start with YOUR energy, not someone else’s schedule.
You don’t need to write for 5 hours every morning to be a ‘real’ writer.
Even if everyone is doing it.
Instead, ask yourself:
When do I feel most alert or creative?
What time of day feels least chaotic for me?
Then commit to that time even if it’s three times a week.
Consistency isn’t about quantity; it's about showing up !
2. Create a personal ritual.
Writing doesn't have to feel like a chore.
Play your favourite song! Snack on something nice (we recommend Capri Sun and cheese balls), meditate or just find something that puts you in the writing zone!
Little rituals can help your brain switch into writing mode faster than guilt or pressure ever will.
3. Be flexible!
If your routine only works when everything goes perfectly, burnout is knocking on your door.
Give yourself grace:
💌 “If I miss a day, I’ll try again tomorrow.”
💌 “If life is too much right now, I’ll take a break.
Remember: Perfection is a myth. Show up as your authentic self.
4. Pick your weekly focus.
Don’t try to write a novel, edit an article, post on LinkedIn, and write a newsletter all in one week😭.
Each week, choose one priority:
🖋 Brainstorming ideas
🖋 Writing new drafts
🖋 Editing old pieces
🖋 Submitting or pitching
5. Celebrate the little wins.
Did you write 200 words or 1000? Open your draft after 3 months?
CELEBRATE THAT!
Don't be too hard on yourself.
